Diversity and inclusion

We’re thinking differently. We’re becoming more inclusive and diverse all the time.?

We're improving gender balance?through targeted female development programmes, diverse?shortlists and a leadership team committed to change.

By the end of 2019, we reached 31% female leaders* across all markets, beating our 2020 target of achieving 30% female?leaders.?

In the UK, we’ve published our?latest gender pay gap report. It sets out the actions we’re taking to create an inclusive culture and make the positive progress we need to see.

Our drive towards an inclusive culture comes through employee?communities which were launched across our markets in 2018. Over 6,000 employees have joined our Aviva Communities which cover: race and religion, gender, sexuality,?caring responsibilities, age, and mental and physical health.

Talented people doing great work for our customers is central to the success of Aviva.?

Doing the right thing for our people

Being a Living Wage Employer

We want our people to be able to enjoy a decent standard of living – that’s why we’re proud to be a real Living Wage Employer in the UK. And that includes contractors and suppliers who work on our sites too. People like Lynne Hanner and her team, who do a great job helping to keep our offices in Norwich clean and safe.

In this video Lynne talks?to some of our people about the huge difference the Living Wage has made to them and their families.?

Equal paid parental leave for Aviva employees

We give our people in the UK, Ireland, France, Singapore, Canada and Italy equal paid parental leave. Regardless of your gender, sexual orientation or how you become a parent – birth, adoption or surrogacy – you’re entitled to the same amount of paid and unpaid time off. We’re working to extend this benefit to all our people.

Since we launched it in 2017, we’ve learnt a lot. Watch our video to find out more and see the impact it’s had for some of our people:?
